Purpose

 

Carry out QA activities in order to ensure that Kitco’s quality standards are achieved and processes are followed. Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities related to Kitco’s projects, including assessment, analysis, evaluation, review, inspection, and testing of software products and processes.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Perform project specific responsibilities
  • Participate in Kitco’s training exercises to improve skills
  • Attend the meetings as required
  • Contribute ideas and information
  • Perform assigned QA and V&V activities and tasks
  • Benefit from the knowledge of other team members
  • Participate in Peer Reviews
  • Record any noncompliance and report them to QA Lead

Essential Job Functions and Tasks

  • Review project related documentation including Business Requirements, System and Software Requirements, Technical Specifications, Detailed Design
  • Provide guidance to project managers on the scope of work and activities required
  • Provide estimates for work efforts
  • Develop Test documentation in accordance with implemented SPLCP
  • Conduct Test Plans Peer Reviews
  • Conduct reviews to sign-off Test Plans
  • Design Test Cases and develop test scripts
  • Conduct Test Cases/Scripts Peer Reviews
  • Execute and maintain test cases and scripts
  • Analyze and document test results
  • Log defects and support developers in resolving them
  • Update Trace ability matrices
  • Produce status reports
  • Assist Test Analyst in implementing quality standards into QA and Software V&V practices according to Kitco’c quality policy
  • Accommodate other departments with User Acceptance Test Plan development

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Detail-oriented, able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environmentPossesses analytical and problem solving skills
  • Technical knowledge relevant to the team's project (ability to understand QA concept, activities and tasks, ability to perform V&V activities)
  • Ability to generate ideas
  • Ability to work autonomously and follow direction from superiors
  • Effectively engage in multiple simultaneous assignments
  • Good communication skills
  • A minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Science
  • A minimum of three solid years of QA and V&V experience in software development
  • Ability to produce innovative ideas
  • Ability to work in the team
  • Efficient time management
